Pamela Voorhees — Linda Cardellini
The series lead. A former singer working as a camp cook in 1972, Pamela spends the season grieving, covering up, and protecting the son the world refuses to believe is alive. Cardellini — Freaks and Geeks, ER, Mad Men's Sylvia Rosen, Green Book, Emmy-nominated for Dead to Me and an Emmy winner in 2026 for HBO's DTF St. Louis — plays her as a woman cracking apart in plain sight. Levon Brooks — William Catlett
Crystal Lake's police chief and the season's moral center — an original character, not from the films. Catlett (Black Lightning, A Black Lady Sketch Show, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey) plays him as a Black lawman in a town that doesn't fully respect his badge, with a Newark past he took the fall for. Jason Voorhees — Callum Vinson
The boy who drowns in episode 1 and refuses to stay dead. Vinson plays Jason as a sweet, bullied kid with a misshapen skull and grand mal seizures — symptoms the season traces back to something far darker than biology. Full character guide →

Characters From the Original Films
A quiet trick of the season: it seeds 1972 with the names the 1980 film made famous. These aren't cameos — they're the franchise's own backstory, restaged where you can watch it happen.
- Ralph ("Crazy Ralph") — The town doomsayer in the 1980 film ("You’re all doomed!"). In the series he’s a Vietnam vet living in the woods — and the man who shoots Jason in the finale.
- The Christy family — The original film’s camp owners. Steve Christy employs the counselors in 1980; the series gives his parents John and Kay Christy the camp in 1972 — and gives Steve the finale’s campfire scene.
- Enos — A truck driver in Friday the 13th Part 2. Here he’s a town local who dies mid–bear-hunt, glimpsing Jason in the trees.
- Barry & Claudette — The couple whose 1958 tryst dooms Jason in the original film’s prologue. The series restages their deaths — with a devastating change of killer.
Where Else You've Seen Them
Cardellini's resume runs from Freaks and Geeks and ER to the Marvel films (Laura Barton) and Green Book. Hamish Linklater earned a Critics' Choice Super Award as Midnight Mass' Father Paul Hill and voices Batman in Caped Crusader. Gwendolyn Sundstrom makes her major debut as Grace; young Callum Vinson carries the series' most demanding child role opposite her.
